DIY Halloween

Hey Dolls!

Since November 1 hit Halloween has been LONG over and Christmas has been all that's on my mind!

But alas, I forgot to post my Halloween costumes so I do need to back trek a little as much as it pains me to. Since my work schedule has been beyond chaotic (Working 10 events in 3 weeks) I can barely keep my eyes open, let alone shop for a costume; therefore, I had to get creative.

A couple weeks pre-Halloween my kickball league had their end of season party ... I did the easiest DIY costume ever and went as Easy A.

Initially it was supposed to be "A" from Pretty Little Liars, but realized this was a much better choice.  I wore a short dress and taped a pink A on. BOOM! Easy A was created!

Halloween night I went to a USC/UCLA grad student party with my roommate and our friend Liz on the Sunset Strip. During the day I thought about what I had at home and came up with this costume: Navy Nancy!

Blue & white striped dress, metallic gold boat shoes and a captain's hat to complete the look. Not only was it free, but it was insanely comfortable compared to wearing heels all night! Morgan went as G.I. Jane and Liz was Catwoman!

What were you for Halloween? I'd love to know/see a photo of your look :)

Month in Instagram: July

July was a great month in my 2013 year. I flew back home to Charleston to see my family over the holiday weekend, spent quality time with my sister after her intense surgery, caught up with some dear friends and started to blog religiously again. Check out some shots via Instagram.

1. The rooms and I headed downtown LA to watch Queen Bey in all her glory on her Mrs. Carter tour
2. Caught up with a Charleston bestie, Josh over a beer. We hadn't seen each other for over a year!
3. I flew back to Charleston for the 4th of July weekend. It was so good to see my family, but also to be with my sister since she had double jaw surgery 2 weeks prior.
4. The familia out on the boat! The rest of the crew met up with us on the jet ski's :)
5. My little ZTA sister flew out to LA for a wedding so we got to catch up one weekend
6. Morgs and I are OBSESSED with Christmas, so naturally a Christmas in July party had to be thrown
7. One of my last "fat" meals. No more frozen packaged meals, pop or candy until September!
8. I saw a SC license plate on my way home from work, top it off with a Charleston Holy City brewing sticker and I was happier than a clam. Love seeing fellow southerner's out in LA

Christmas in July

This is a LONG post just to forewarn everyone! Over the weekend my roommate and I threw a Christmas in July party which was a huge success! Our friends came over dressed in their Christmas swag, participated in a white elephant present exchange and even partook in a Christmas pageant ... which was rather interesting.IMG_5358

We asked everyone to bring a $5 gift for our Christmas in July "White Elephant" exchange and things got a bit interesting! A lot of my friends got SUPER creative which made my heart melt that they actually put some thought into this party activity!IMG_5342IMG_5337 IMG_5349 IMG_5348 IMG_5323 IMG_5347 IMG_5346 IMG_5340 IMG_5319 IMG_5324 IMG_5316
