New Year & A New Me

Here's to 2014! New year and a New Me!

IMG_0943

My vacation is officially over; therefore, my blog vacation is over as well. Over the Christmas holiday I decided I wanted to focus more on my blog than I have in the past and truly give it my all. So here's to a year of great blog posts, opportunities and hopefully new blog friends!

I spent the majority of my holiday back East with my family which is where these photos were taken. Not only is Charleston a wonderful, historic town, but it's also full of FANTASTIC areas to take photographs.

Do you have any big goals or resolutions in 2014?

Friday Gameday: Rivalry Week!

Friday Gameday

It's rivals week in College football and I couldn't be more amped for this game! Our arch rival is Clemson University and even though we're in the SEC and they're in the ACC, this in-state rivalry is one for the books.

We don't have a pro football team in South Carolina so college ball means serious business! The last 4 years we have beaten Clemson and it's been AWESOME. We have home turf advantage, but Clemson honestly has a better team so it will be a toss up of who takes it. Regardless, I'll be rooting on my boys Saturday and can't wait for all the action!

Friday Gameday Part 4

Friday GamedayHappy Friday Y'all!

We have a home game tomorrow against the University of Kentucky and we should have no problem beating them; however, with our team this year I don't want to get too cocky! Between the game starting at 9 AM on the west coast and me being dead tired from the work week I only caught half of last week's game, so I'm really looking forward to screaming at my television come Saturday!

If I was at the tailgate this weekend this would be the EXACT outfit I would wear. It perfectly transitions from day to night and it's seriously so comfortable I didn't want to take it off! I'm amazed the entire ensemble is from Forever 21 because to be honest, their clothes don't tend to last that long - hence why they're so cheap -. I've had this skirt since sophomore year of college and it's still going strong!

IMG_6064IMG_6062IMG_6069I'm still obsessing over this great cuff my mom got me!IMG_6076IMG_6073Top & Skirt: Forever 21 // Necklace: Versona // Booties: Target // Cuff: Rustic Cuff // Ring: Boutique in Rome & Handpicked  // Sunnies: Raybans

Monday Gameday

Friday Gameday
- Scratch that, it's MONDAY Game Day -

My Gamecocks had a close game last Saturday against the University of Central Florida. Luckily we pulled through, but man was it a nail biter! I unfortunately won't be able to make it back to South Carolina for any games this year, but if I could this is exactly what I would wear to a tailgate party.

Every southern girl knows that a good tailgate involves your best girlfriends, country music, ice cold beer and a great outfit. This one isn't only screaming GO COCKS! because of the school colors, but also great for the Southern humidity! The booties finish off the look and give it the country kick it needs!

Momma Comes to LA

After receiving some not so hot news from the doctor, my mom flew cross country to spend the week with me in Los Angeles. Since award season has officially arrived I didn't get to see her nearly as much as I would have liked, but we did get to do some pretty great stuff! Here's a recap of our week:

IMG_0357We started with lunch at The Warehouse in Marina del Rey on SaturdayIMG_0359
We were both decked out in our South Carolina gear of course! GO COCKS! IMG_0398On Sunday we decided to wake up early and hike Beachwood Canyon

Almost to the top! IMG_0372
We finally made it!IMG_0378IMG_0380
This group was so motivating the whole way up. Then decided to have an additional work out ...

Momma and I just posed at the top. No push up's for us!
IMG_0403
After our hike we went to The Emmys Creative Arts Awards IMG_0402
Followed by The Emmys Creative Arts Ball
IMG_0406
My mother looked simply fabulous in her Ralph Lauren dress and Ivanka Trump Flats
IMG_0422IMG_0415IMG_0414
Mom got a kick out of all these people standing here to block the red carpet
IMG_0428
She also felt like a movie star while everyone watched the red carpet from afar with their camerasIMG_0459
At the Creative Arts Awards by the Emmy Statue

Later in the week we met up with my cousin Austin at The Grove for dinner

Mom hadn't seen Austin in ages and since he just moved to LA to work at the Conan O'Brien show it was the perfect opportunity for them to catch up!

Unfortunately the week my mom was here I was completely swamped with work (thank you Emmy awards!) and didn't get to spend nearly the amount of time with her as I wanted to. I won't see her again until Thanksgiving, but work is picking up so I know the time is going to fly by!

Friday Gameday Part 2

Friday Gameday
I woke up SUPER early last Saturday to pick up my mom from the airport and completely forgot to take pictures for the blog. Hence these are taken with NO makeup and NO hair product. Please don't judge too harshly!

Keeping in the Friday Gameday edition theme, this is a perfect example of what I would wear to the bar to watch some pigskin. It's cool, comfy and the slogan on the back is pure perfection!

Month in Instagram: July

July was a great month in my 2013 year. I flew back home to Charleston to see my family over the holiday weekend, spent quality time with my sister after her intense surgery, caught up with some dear friends and started to blog religiously again. Check out some shots via Instagram.

1 23 4 5 6 7 8

1. The rooms and I headed downtown LA to watch Queen Bey in all her glory on her Mrs. Carter tour
2. Caught up with a Charleston bestie, Josh over a beer. We hadn't seen each other for over a year!
3. I flew back to Charleston for the 4th of July weekend. It was so good to see my family, but also to be with my sister since she had double jaw surgery 2 weeks prior.
4. The familia out on the boat! The rest of the crew met up with us on the jet ski's :)
5. My little ZTA sister flew out to LA for a wedding so we got to catch up one weekend
6. Morgs and I are OBSESSED with Christmas, so naturally a Christmas in July party had to be thrown
7. One of my last "fat" meals. No more frozen packaged meals, pop or candy until September!
8. I saw a SC license plate on my way home from work, top it off with a Charleston Holy City brewing sticker and I was happier than a clam. Love seeing fellow southerner's out in LA
