Memorial Day Weekend + Stylish Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

I hope everyone had a phenomenal Memorial Day Weekend and enjoyed some quality time doing what they love! I celebrated one of my best friend's birthdays at the beach, bought some furniture for the house and spent some quality R & R time with Dr. D - which was more than needed!

In addition to a weekend full of fun, I also am participating in a $235 Asos gift card giveaway with 19 other fabulous bloggers! Be sure to enter via the Rafflecopter below and show the other ladies some love!

After a weekend at the beach playing volleyball and going out to the bars for a birthday celebration, I really wanted to be cozy for the latter end of the weekend. Rather than throw on a v neck tee and shorts (my go to look,) I figured I'd stay stylish and comfortable with printed shorts and chambray - one can never go wrong with chambray!
 Obsessed with this stack!

I love taking photos on my patio, but I got a little adventurous and wanted to take some on the roof. Dr. D was totally for it and I love how they turned out!

This week's featured blogger is Angela from Pretty In Her Pearls!
Can we just talk about the perfect use of a "pop of color?!" Black and hot pink are always the perfect color combo in my book, but adding the green blazer is sheer genius! The polka dot lining pairs so well with the coloring of her Louis Vuitton bag and let's be real, I love all of her over-sized statement pieces!

Wedding Season in Dallas & Stylish Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Loves!

After an extremely long week which seemed never-ending, I hopped on a red eye flight Friday night and headed to Dallas for my cousin Ansley's wedding. My mom's side of the family is extremely small and it's rare to ever have us all together - so when Ansley announced she was engaged I got butterflies in my stomach not only because I was beyond happy for her, but because it'd be the first time in 12 years we'd seen each other!

Her little brother Austin moved to LA last Summer and we've seen each other here and there but with our busy schedules, it was nice to literally have all of the cousins, my aunt and uncle along with my mom in the same room. It truly is the little thing's y'all! A lot of the photos are blurry but I'm happy to have them none the less!

Speaking of little things, I forgot to mention on here that my sister finally reached the end of her long mouth battle - and that y'all is MAJOR. Ever since I can remember she's had headgear, retainers, braces, etc. and last summer she finally bit the bullet to have double jaw reconstructive surgery. Below is her process (and while it's graphic, it truly shows every step she went through. Don't worry I asked her for permission to use the photos.)
It still blows my mind how different my sister looks. She's always been beautiful, but now she is completely breathtaking and smiles more than I have ever seen her smile before in my life!
But back to the wedding ... of course it was a lavish affair filled with long peach bridesmaid gowns, cute chalkboard signs, gorgeous floral arrangements and the most beautiful bride Texas has ever seen! While the day was completely and utterly about her (as it should be!) it made my heart melt when we went to take a photo and she asked, "Am I going to make the blog?!" Of course she was going to make the blog, how could a bride this stunning not be featured?!
Before I knew it the party was getting started and it was filled with photo booth pictures, non-stop dancing and of course a trip or two to the gelato stand! I had a fabulous time catching up with family I hadn't seen in years, gushing over my sister's amazing new smile and learning how to do "the pretzel" with my Uncle Craig.

This week's featured blogger is Nora from Jacket Society!
Nora literally always has the best jackets but since that is what her business consists of, I wouldn't expect anything less! This coral blazer immediately caught my eye because of how bright it appeared against her white ensemble. She added the perfect amount of accessories to finish off the outfit and look chic yet casual!

Stylish Tuesday + Mexican Maxi

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

I had an absolute blast on my Mexican vaca and wanted to personally thank all of my fabulous guest bloggers for keeping my blog alive and well while I was gone. It truly means the world! I'll be giving a full trip recap later in the week, but today I'm focusing on my new favorite purchase --- the maxi dress.

On our first night in Cabo it got a little brisker than I anticipated, so I was ecstatic to bust out this printed Forever 21 maxi. The colors were bright and vibrant and the pattern was super flattering.

The infinity pools overlooking the ocean were stunning. Dr. D and I would sit on the edge of the pool and overlook the ocean waves crashing on the beach for longer than I should admit - it was just so serene

Stylish Tuesday + Malibu Wines

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

It truly is April Fools Day for me, last night I slammed my finger in my girlfriend's apartment door after dinner and that sucker is still throbbing!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and your Tuesday is starting out fantastic! I had a lovely weekend celebrating my two year anniversary with Dr. D! We kept it very low key and ventured out to Malibu Wines but I'll post a full recap about my anniversary on Thursday :)

Over the weekend I was super excited to see two more apartments in LA but as before, both were a bust (for different reasons) but new opportunities are slowly showing up. I still have 2 months to find something, but this process is already becoming too stressful for my liking!

- Back to the fashion-

It's been rather chilly in LA terms lately and I for one don't mind it a bit. The weather is about to skyrocket into the high temperatures here and I'll constantly be living in shorts and sundresses; therefore, I'm wearing my jeans and chiffon blouses until it's too hot to handle!
I loved the way the gold flats and belt tied everything in together and really brought out the chain and links in the bubble necklace! Not to mention the amazing backdrop, Malibu Wines has some seriously adorable prop pieces all over their stunning grounds!
I took about 5 photos in front of this sign. I absolutely loved it!
The back detail on this top is super chic in my mind
When Dr. D snags these candid shots they end up being my favorite. Anyone else feel that way about unintentional shots?

This week's featured blogger is Stephanie from Diary of a Debutante!
I'm so glad Stephanie stopped by and linked up because I am now officially obsessed with her blog! She's always on some kind of fun adventure, or posting a flawless outfit post which looks completely effortless just like the one above. Such a simple striped dress with a fun statement necklace and clutch but when all put together it makes for one incredible look!
