Tis the Season!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

Holy crap when did it become December? I swear it was just August a minute ago then BAM the holidays are upon us! I'm not complaining in the least, December is my utmost favorite time of year because everyone finally starts to get in the Christmas spirit and it's 100% ok to be blasting Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas" on repeat without getting dirty looks ...

Before I get into full on Christmas mode on my little corner of the internet, don't fret those posts will start becoming a regular thing here soon, let's back track to this past weekend and Thanksgiving! I was fortunate enough to be able to spend it with my family once again in Las Vegas, which is what we did last year as well. It works out great because we get to eat at some of the nicest restaurants in the country, bet on football and of course spend time with each other. If I'm lucky I get to see my parents and sister together in the same place 2-3 times a year so I always look forward to having us all together.

Look for a Vegas recap later in the week, but for now let's get back to my outfit post. It's been a LONG time since I've posted one of these so thank you to my fabulous madre for taking my photos :)

All black outfits are great, but whenever the chance to wear sequins arises, I jump on it!

I just love the scallop detailing on this skirt

When I first tried these on, I was a little hesitant to buy them but now they're literally my go to black heels!

Stylish Tuesday with Co-Host Dressed 2 DNines!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!
First and foremost THANK Y'ALL for such a warm welcoming back to the blog community!

I vaguely mentioned my love for easy, DIY Halloween costumes last week on the blog so today I'm going to dive more into that category. I know we have a whole year before it's time to get decked out in our best costumes, but maybe you can wear some of these throughout the year? Doubtful ... but it makes me feel a little better about this post!

Minnie Mouse
Obviously my sister and I dressed like Minnie for Mickey's "Not So Scary" Halloween party but I was this close to re-wearing the tutu and ears with black heels and a tight black tank on actual Halloween night! Add a little black to my nose and I think it would have worked out great!
Walk of Shame
Probably my favorite DIY Halloween costume to date. Since I had a pair of guys boxers lying around I asked one of my guy friends for one of his button up shirts (tip: get one with a pocket so you can throw your phone, ID and debit card in there rather than take out a bag!) I added an obscene amount of jewelry, paired it with some heels and literally "roughed" up my hair to complete the look
90's
Probably one of the most simple costumes to date. Grab a colorful tank, some colored Soffee shorts (don't act like you don't still have a pair lying around!) Pair it with a crop top sweatshirt or tank, a side ponytail and some funky glasses and you're ready to party!
Navy Nancy, GI Jane and a Cat

This is what I threw together 2 years ago. I had a striped dress from Target which I just added some gold accessories to. I threw on a captain's hat which I had bought for a pub crawl a couple months prior and BAM Navy Nancy was born!

Morgs literally threw her combat boots on with black shorts, white tank and a dog tag necklace to create GI Jane. For some reason she had a matching set camo beer coozie belt and hat which honestly made the outfit in my opinion!

Liz was a traditional sexy class with black tights, a body suit and ears ... duh!
Drinking Team of Champions
So this one wasn't exactly a Halloween costume, but it would do the trick! I got those shirts in the boys section at Target last Labor Day for $5 each! We ended up using them for our team Beer Olympic shirts but this would be an amazing group costume on the cheap!

On a completely different side note, my kickball team in the CA Dogtown league ended up beating the #1 seed in the semi finals which advanced us to the Championship! We ended up losing, but it was such a fun time playing in a finals game that I had to share!

Stylish Tuesday + A 65 MCMLXV Tee Giveaway!

Happy Tuesday Pretties!

Y'all SO much has happened in the last week you would not even believe! Last Monday I went to an Emmy party for work (if you follow me on Instagram you know what's coming) and met some great celebrities. It was my roomies first award event and we had an absolute blast.

Fast forward to Thursday and Dr. D moved in with me for 2 1/2 weeks. It's super fun to do a trial "move in" period, but at the same time super depressing because he's moving to Ohio on August 17th which is literally around the corner. Friday night I had a kickball end of season party on a yacht that was prom themed. To say I had way too much fun would be the understatement of the year, but then again there was an open bar ....

Just wanted to fill y'all in a little bit of what's going on in my life lately, but now on to the fun stuff. I mean what's more fun than a GIVEAWAY?

The fabulous 65 mcmlxv is a NYC-based contemporary company that creates stylish but classic casual clothing at an affordable price. I immediately gravitated for the Cosmopolitan shirt because it reminded me of Sex and the City. How could one resist?
The cotton is super soft and comfy. Plus, it's a tagless tee! You can't beat that!

The tee is clearly the highlight of this post, but can we talk about this ikat skirt for a sec? So beautiful, made from silk and has a touch of fun in the back with a neon zipper!
Top: c/o 65 MCMLXV // Skirt & Earrings: Francesca's Collection // Heels: Michael Kors // Sunglasses: Ray Ban // Bangle: Forever 21 // Bracelets: Gifted & Zinnia // Watch: Juicy Couture

This giveaway starts today and ends on Monday, August 10 at 12 PM, PST. Winner will be announced, next Tuesday, August 11. Open to residents in the U.S. and Canada only! 65 Mcmlxv has a wide variety of graphic tees and the winner gets to pick which one they want off their website.

Good luck y'all!

This is a sponsored post from 65 MCMLXV but all opinions and thoughts are my own

Cobalt Blue and Black is one of my favorite color combos leaning into fall. I think they pair together perfectly and this outfit completely reassures that! The sleeves on this top are fantastic and her skin tone looks amazing next to this fun shade of blue. Great look doll!

Moment of Truth

Happy Tuesday Pretties!

Do you ever just have one of those ah-mazing, super relaxed weekends?
Ya me either, which explains why all of today's photos look like this:
Crazy hair, shiny face and a million watt smile because I didn't care!

My mom just spent 9 days out with me in LA and we were going non-stop like crazy tourists. We laughed, saw wild parrots outside my apartment window (seriously wish I was kidding, those suckers are loud) and ate far too much food. Alas, last Thursday night came and she flew back to the East coast. I already miss her like crazy, but the second she left I needed a vacation from my stay-cation.

Friday afternoon rolled around and all I wanted to do was go to dinner with Dr. D and catch up with my dear friends, Hulu and the couch. I seriously missed those guys! Unfortunately, he wasn't feeling that plan and took me out to Mexican instead. I dragged along my roommate Meems and best bud Matty, then afterwards played Clue and drank some wine. All in all it was a fabulous evening!

Saturday I hiked every square inch of Runyon Canyon, and while it was glorious, my legs were throbbing all day Sunday! After Runyon I literally passed out for a solid 5 hour nap (oh so good) then woke up to Dr. D making me dinner - I mean how much better can it get?

Sunday I did absolutely nothing. I didn't lift a finger except to change the channel on the remote or put a cup to my mouth. Well that all lasted until about 2:30 when my darling boyfriend reminded me we not only had a kickball game at 6, but I also had not taken blog photos ... DANG IT! I shot of the couch, ran to the mirror and said," Eh, if my readers actually read my blog they already know I'm far from perfect. I'm going to just throw on some lipstick and put on the first thing that catches my eye in my closet and wing it." Well y'all that's exactly what I did.

I don't think this look turned out half bad!
This is me as natural as it gets guys. My hair hasn't seen a styling tool, it barely saw a comb
Dress: Forever 21 // Heels: Target // Jean Jacket: Hollister (from middle school!) // Necklace: Polly's Jewelry // Blue Bangle: Forever 21 // Spike Bracelet: Sage K & Co // Silver Bangle: Penelope Boutique // Watch: Juicy Couture // Earrings: Versona // Monogram Ring: Handpicked // Turquoise Ring: Steinmart

I have to admit, never in a million years did I think I'd post photos of myself on my blog for the world to judge where I don't think I look at least half decent, let alone my best; however, this post is very liberating for me.

Just because I enjoy blogging about fashion, doesn't mean I constantly have to set the standard to look like a model! Today's society has enough body image issues and if only one person reads this and walks away knowing it's okay to post photos of who you truly are and be comfortable in your own skin, than this post was more than worth it!

- Ok rant over, but before you link up make sure to enter the eShakti giveaway! -

How Southern Chic is this outfit? It reminds me on a toned tone version of fabulous outfit one might wear to the Kentucky Derby! I'm loving the pop of color with the pink blouse paired with the navy and white printed skirt (which matches the hat perfectly!) The way she tied in neutral colors in her accessories is brilliant and this look is seriously amazing. Way to rock it doll!

Patriotic Stylish Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

To say I'm ecstatic for the Fourth of July would be the understatement of the year. I love everything about this holiday and am really looking forward to celebrating it with some of my closest friends! I have no idea what we're doing yet, but I'm assuming it will involve beach volleyball, refreshing drinks and catching some rays before watching the gorgeous firework displays!

To show off my love for the good 'ole U S of A, I figured a patriotic outfit was definitely a must! eShakti sent me this dress and y'all it's seriously amazing! I feel like a stepford wife when I wear it and want to twirl non-stop because the bottom was simply made for twirling!
If y'all haven't heard of eShakti then make sure to check out their site here! They have a wide variety of choices and best of all, you can customize them! If you like a top  but wish it had sleeves, that's just one click away! Wish the length of the dress was a little longer, boom you can do that too! The possibilities are endless and it's truly great that a site like this exists.
Not only can eShakti customize the way your dress, top or skirt looks, they can also CUSTOM FIT it to your body. Say what?! This was amazing news for me because I have a petite waist with bigger hips/thighs and it's incredibly difficult to find a great fitting bottom for my frame. I gave them my measurements and let me tell y'all, this dress fits like a glove and is completely flattering!
Have I still not sold you? Then let me blow your mind one last time. EVERY single dress and bottom piece has pockets! Y'all who doesn't love pockets? I mean they only make everyone's life a tad bit easier ...

Dress: c/o eShakti // Heels: Nine West // Necklace: Versona // Belt: Target // Watch: Burberry // Bracelet: Forever 21 // Rings: David Yurman & Bought in Rome // Earrings: Nordstrom Rack // Sunglasses: Ray Ban
