Stylish Tuesday + A 65 MCMLXV Tee Giveaway!

Happy Tuesday Pretties!

Y'all SO much has happened in the last week you would not even believe! Last Monday I went to an Emmy party for work (if you follow me on Instagram you know what's coming) and met some great celebrities. It was my roomies first award event and we had an absolute blast.

Fast forward to Thursday and Dr. D moved in with me for 2 1/2 weeks. It's super fun to do a trial "move in" period, but at the same time super depressing because he's moving to Ohio on August 17th which is literally around the corner. Friday night I had a kickball end of season party on a yacht that was prom themed. To say I had way too much fun would be the understatement of the year, but then again there was an open bar ....

Just wanted to fill y'all in a little bit of what's going on in my life lately, but now on to the fun stuff. I mean what's more fun than a GIVEAWAY?

The fabulous 65 mcmlxv is a NYC-based contemporary company that creates stylish but classic casual clothing at an affordable price. I immediately gravitated for the Cosmopolitan shirt because it reminded me of Sex and the City. How could one resist?
The cotton is super soft and comfy. Plus, it's a tagless tee! You can't beat that!

The tee is clearly the highlight of this post, but can we talk about this ikat skirt for a sec? So beautiful, made from silk and has a touch of fun in the back with a neon zipper!
Top: c/o 65 MCMLXV // Skirt & Earrings: Francesca's Collection // Heels: Michael Kors // Sunglasses: Ray Ban // Bangle: Forever 21 // Bracelets: Gifted & Zinnia // Watch: Juicy Couture

This giveaway starts today and ends on Monday, August 10 at 12 PM, PST. Winner will be announced, next Tuesday, August 11. Open to residents in the U.S. and Canada only! 65 Mcmlxv has a wide variety of graphic tees and the winner gets to pick which one they want off their website.

Good luck y'all!

This is a sponsored post from 65 MCMLXV but all opinions and thoughts are my own

Cobalt Blue and Black is one of my favorite color combos leaning into fall. I think they pair together perfectly and this outfit completely reassures that! The sleeves on this top are fantastic and her skin tone looks amazing next to this fun shade of blue. Great look doll!

Fourth of July Recap + Stylish Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

I hope everyone had a safe and fabulous 4th of July weekend!

My long weekend started out with a dinner party, followed by Thursday off (hello beach day!) Friday I went to a bbq hosted by a kickball friend took a side trip to the beach and ended the day out watching fireworks go off in 8 different locations from my roof ... one word - AWESOME! I've said it before, and I'll say it again I am obsessed and so lucky I found the apartment that I did in such short notice.
A group of us at the bbq on Friday
Margo me and my roommate Meems celebrating Independence Day!

Saturday was pretty low key, running errands and what not before heading to Hollywood Forever to watch Coming To America with yet another group of kickball friends. If y'all are ever in the LA area during the Summer I highly suggest heading over to the cemetery to catch a movie. It's really fun enjoying a picnic and some vino while lounging with your friends.

If you've seen Valentine's Day, it's the location where they shoot the outdoor movie scene with Topher Grace and the elderly guy (sorry lacking his name!)

Sunday I literally died on my couch from exhaustion - sad but true.

A glimpse of the amazing view I had for the 4th of July fireworks

- But back to the fashion -
The minute I spotted this scallop lace tank at Target I fell in love with the intricate details!
When the cobalt blue (have I mentioned I LOVE this color) scallop high waisted shorts caught my eye at Francesca's, I knew they'd be a perfect 4th of July outfit!
The metallic wedges were a perfect addition to get me in the festive holiday mood!

This look is so simple and casual, yet sophisticated and chic! I love how basic pieces don't have to be overwhelmed with statement jewelry, but rather paired with neutral accesories and still look polished. This patriotic looks gets an A+ in my book!

Patriotic Stylish Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

To say I'm ecstatic for the Fourth of July would be the understatement of the year. I love everything about this holiday and am really looking forward to celebrating it with some of my closest friends! I have no idea what we're doing yet, but I'm assuming it will involve beach volleyball, refreshing drinks and catching some rays before watching the gorgeous firework displays!

To show off my love for the good 'ole U S of A, I figured a patriotic outfit was definitely a must! eShakti sent me this dress and y'all it's seriously amazing! I feel like a stepford wife when I wear it and want to twirl non-stop because the bottom was simply made for twirling!
If y'all haven't heard of eShakti then make sure to check out their site here! They have a wide variety of choices and best of all, you can customize them! If you like a top  but wish it had sleeves, that's just one click away! Wish the length of the dress was a little longer, boom you can do that too! The possibilities are endless and it's truly great that a site like this exists.
Not only can eShakti customize the way your dress, top or skirt looks, they can also CUSTOM FIT it to your body. Say what?! This was amazing news for me because I have a petite waist with bigger hips/thighs and it's incredibly difficult to find a great fitting bottom for my frame. I gave them my measurements and let me tell y'all, this dress fits like a glove and is completely flattering!
Have I still not sold you? Then let me blow your mind one last time. EVERY single dress and bottom piece has pockets! Y'all who doesn't love pockets? I mean they only make everyone's life a tad bit easier ...

East vs West Swim + Cover Up

Happy Thursday Babes!

June has seriously flown by y'all, here we are at the last Thursday of the month again which means it's time for East vs. West Coast Style with Pamela from Sequins & Seabreezes! Things have been so hot lately in LA and Florida so we decided to showcase swim and cover ups this time around!

I'm obsessing over Pamela in navy blue, I truly think this is her color! I also love the sleeves on her cover up ... perfect to take her from the pool to the club house for a mai tai without looking inappropriate!
I love her fringe top with stripe bottoms!
Once again, Pamela and I are just alike in our peek-a-boo cover ups!

Naturally when we were talking about what to feature this month I suggested swimwear because I've been DYING to do a beach photo shoot and low and behold, it didn't happen. I had my house warming last Saturday night and Sunday was spent cheering on good 'ol USA in the World Cup. Long story short, I went to my trusty rooftop for photos!

I bought this cover up the Summer before last when Dr. D and I went to Palm Springs because I was tired of throwing on sundresses. I was tried of shopping around at the Grove and gave in as I walked into Nordstrom. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about Nordstrom but whenever I go in there I know I'm about to drop some serious moola.
As I rode the escalator up to the swim section, I told myself I wouldn't buy anything unless it was timeless and I'd continuously wear it over the years. After my mental pep talk, I saw it hanging on the back wall in an array of colors with a big SALE sign above it - this was too good to be true! I grabbed it in hot pink, white and black and went to the fitting room because sometimes you just need to try the color on against your skin to know what you're getting yourself into.
Cover Up: Becca by Rebecca Virtue // Fedora: H&M // Bathing Suit: Victoria Secret // Sunnies: Ray Ban

Turns out black looked the best and was the only color NOT on sale. Go figure. I was so in love with it at that point I dropped the $120 ... yes it still makes me cringe ... grabbed my shiny gray bag and booked it the hell out of there. Looking back I'm SO glad I bought it because I wear it every single time I go to the pool, spa, or beach. Sometimes it's worth it to spend the extra money for a quality piece!

Do y'all have any pieces in your closet you're thankful you spent the money on?

Cobalt Blue & Stylish Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

Lately I've been obsessing over cobalt blue! I went on a major shopping spree a couple of weeks back for my cousins wedding in Dallas, and ended up with 4 cobalt blue dresses! It didn't hit me until I went to hang them up in my OCD color coordinated closet and they all went into the same section ... don't know which is more embarrassing, a color coordinated closet or that I indeed bought 4 dresses the same exact color in one shopping trip!

This was initially one of those stated dresses I bought for the wedding. I adore the 3/4 length sleeves and how flattering the fit and flare style is. The small horizontal lines added texture to the dress and felt amazing to rub my hand up and down my arm (guilty as charged, because y'all know I did that all day long!)

I didn't end up wearing it to the wedding (because let's be honest, I would have died in the Texas heat y'all!) but I did wear it to a work meeting last week and got loads of compliments. Best of all, it was a steal for less than $25 from Forever 21!

When it came to accessorizing this beauty, I kept it very simple. Normally I love to layer necklaces, add a watch to literally every outfit and pair with statement earrings on top of it all but honestly, this dress speaks for itself.

I added a waist belt to break up all of the blue and tie in my nude/rose gold heels. The statement earrings matched so perfectly, I had to showcase them by putting my hair up and letting them be the star of the show!
If you know me, you know that I'm a sucker for a good arm party. Most people feel naked without their phone and while I too am one of those people, if my left wrist isn't stacked and my right wrist doesn't have a hair tie, my whole day is caught off balance.

You gals get it, hair ties are an essential wrist accessory and you never need it until the one time you do and your trusty rubber band isn't there ... whomp whomp!
Ladies, these heels are EVERYTHING! The heel is a perfect 3 1/2 inch height so you don't feel like you're going to break your neck as you walk around. The cut out's are on trend along with the textured leather and metallic rose gold heel. My favorite part is the ankle support - I truly feel like I could run a mile in these puppies.

Shout out to my blogger bud, Adri from Adri Lately for helping convince me these bad boys needed to be purchased. I don't even know why I was contemplating now!
