66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

First and foremost, let's get through the nitty gritty not so fun part of today's post. Due to the Emmys being pushed up a MONTH from last year's awards (thank you NFL) my life has become a chaotic, hectic mess to put it nicely.

From now until the awards (Monday, August 25,) I'll only be posting on Tuesday's so I can host my link up and still feel like I'm part of the blog world, by living vicariously through y'alls posts. Hopefully this isn't a huge inconvenience and y'all will still come back to link up every week!

- Debbie Downer moment now OVER -

Speaking of the Emmys, I know I talk about it from time to time on my blog, but I don't actually show y'all what I truly do for the awards. Last year was my first time working a high end awards show and I have to admit, it was a ton of fun. Between you and I, the Emmy awards are way more fun than the Oscars (shocking I know) because everyone seems so much more down to earth.

Last Wednesday, was the official Governors Ball press preview. The Governors Ball is the largest sit down dinner in North America and quite possibly the world, feeding upwards of 4,000 guests! At the press preview all of the sponsors are there to answer any questions the media may have about the product and for everyone to get a taste of what the evening will be like.

Luckily for y'all, I got the complete inside scoop! First let me talk about the 66th Primetime Emmys theme: Kaleidoscope of Color!
Just like when you look through a kaleidoscope and see a vision of bright, beautiful colors, that experience will be brought to life with an array of rainbow colors in a luminous and exciting live laser show! Dancers will be positioned against the back wall behind the winners circle to entertain guests as they mingle and party. Talk about a dramatic effect!

The food is courtesy of Patina catering and ever so scrumptious! Just check out this menu!
A lovely meal wouldn't be complete without a fabulous cocktail! Grey Goose is the official vodka sponsor and Beaulieu Vineyards is the official wine sponsor. So ecstatic to be working with BV at this event because it's our 11th year doing the awards, 9th consecutive!
Two of the various table displays at the Governors Ball

To make things even better at this years awards is the fact that the pristine Georges de Latour Cabernet Sauvignon is celebrating it's 75th anniversary!

Cellar Door chocolates (based out of Kentucky,) will be treating guests to white chocolate covered oreos, chocolate covered marshmallows, peanut butter cups, salted caramel cups and their famous bourbon balls. They literally have everything to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Pictured left to right: Bourbon balls, Caramel Cups, Peanut Butter Cups and additional Bourbon Balls

To make things even more convenient for the stars, Loreal Paris (official make up sponsor) will be having touch up booths to keep them looking ravishing all throughout the evening! Not only are they generously hosting that, but they also have free product samples available in the ladies lounge for all guests to sample!
I was fortunate enough to not only test out some of their fabulous new blendable blushes, but get to take a ton of free product home. Everything you see above was up for grabs after the press preview was over since some of it had been used for media presentations. Needless to say, I walked away with a ton of product (obsessed with their lipsticks) which may or may not even be my skin tone.

This look is the epitome of feminine and lady like. I love the white midi skirt because it can be paired with so many different things, but I think it looks absolutely stunning with a bright neon blouse, neutral belt and over the top statement necklace. Great look doll!

Moment of Truth

Happy Tuesday Pretties!

Do you ever just have one of those ah-mazing, super relaxed weekends?
Ya me either, which explains why all of today's photos look like this:
Crazy hair, shiny face and a million watt smile because I didn't care!

My mom just spent 9 days out with me in LA and we were going non-stop like crazy tourists. We laughed, saw wild parrots outside my apartment window (seriously wish I was kidding, those suckers are loud) and ate far too much food. Alas, last Thursday night came and she flew back to the East coast. I already miss her like crazy, but the second she left I needed a vacation from my stay-cation.

Friday afternoon rolled around and all I wanted to do was go to dinner with Dr. D and catch up with my dear friends, Hulu and the couch. I seriously missed those guys! Unfortunately, he wasn't feeling that plan and took me out to Mexican instead. I dragged along my roommate Meems and best bud Matty, then afterwards played Clue and drank some wine. All in all it was a fabulous evening!

Saturday I hiked every square inch of Runyon Canyon, and while it was glorious, my legs were throbbing all day Sunday! After Runyon I literally passed out for a solid 5 hour nap (oh so good) then woke up to Dr. D making me dinner - I mean how much better can it get?

Sunday I did absolutely nothing. I didn't lift a finger except to change the channel on the remote or put a cup to my mouth. Well that all lasted until about 2:30 when my darling boyfriend reminded me we not only had a kickball game at 6, but I also had not taken blog photos ... DANG IT! I shot of the couch, ran to the mirror and said," Eh, if my readers actually read my blog they already know I'm far from perfect. I'm going to just throw on some lipstick and put on the first thing that catches my eye in my closet and wing it." Well y'all that's exactly what I did.

I don't think this look turned out half bad!
This is me as natural as it gets guys. My hair hasn't seen a styling tool, it barely saw a comb
Dress: Forever 21 // Heels: Target // Jean Jacket: Hollister (from middle school!) // Necklace: Polly's Jewelry // Blue Bangle: Forever 21 // Spike Bracelet: Sage K & Co // Silver Bangle: Penelope Boutique // Watch: Juicy Couture // Earrings: Versona // Monogram Ring: Handpicked // Turquoise Ring: Steinmart

I have to admit, never in a million years did I think I'd post photos of myself on my blog for the world to judge where I don't think I look at least half decent, let alone my best; however, this post is very liberating for me.

Just because I enjoy blogging about fashion, doesn't mean I constantly have to set the standard to look like a model! Today's society has enough body image issues and if only one person reads this and walks away knowing it's okay to post photos of who you truly are and be comfortable in your own skin, than this post was more than worth it!

How Southern Chic is this outfit? It reminds me on a toned tone version of fabulous outfit one might wear to the Kentucky Derby! I'm loving the pop of color with the pink blouse paired with the navy and white printed skirt (which matches the hat perfectly!) The way she tied in neutral colors in her accessories is brilliant and this look is seriously amazing. Way to rock it doll!

Two $25 eShakti Gift Card Giveaway with InDuffinitely Me!

Happy Monday Dolls!

Normally, I don't post on Monday's, but when Amber from InDuffinitely Me asked me to be a part of her giveaway with eShakti I was over the moon!

I did a post on eShakti not too long ago, check it out here, and am absolutely in love with the company! They offer adorable pieces ranging from crop tops to midi skirts but everything is adjustable!
I'm sure you're asking, what do you mean adjustable?! I mean that they can take any garment piece on their website and either add sleeves, change the length of the skirt or put a completely different type of neckline on the top or dress. How crazy is that?!

In addition to all of the customization options each dress, skirt and pant has POCKETS! Those little fabric compartments truly complete me because they make everything much more convenient!

Now's your chance to own one of eShakti's stunning pieces! Two lucky ladies will win $25 gift cards to this fabulous little boutique! Giveaway starts today and will end Saturday, July 26th! Simply enter the giveaway below and good luck!

Month in Instagram: June

Happy Thursday Dolls!

My June was busy as crap at work - which is a huge change because the summer is always my slow season! I met up with some old friends, made new ones, worked a ton of events and celebrated Dr. D on multiple occasions!

I finally got back into working out as well and feel amazing. Granted it's a slow process, but hey it's an improvement from the 12 oz. bicep work out which I usually do!

My babe Sammee and I handle the bar games for our kickball league and had an amazing time at our America themed end of season party
Met up with one my sorority sister Karyn in Santa Monica!

Another day, another red carpet event in Beverly Hills
My motto which got me through the ENTIRE month y'all!

Hold the Cone's from Trader Joe's are the absolute best and only 80 calories! SCORE!
Did some morning yoga on the Santa Monica Pier

Wine deliveries at work always make the day a little brighter - clearly we couldn't wait to dive in!
Had to have a cheat day with chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake ... so sinful yet so delicious!

Bright work out shorts and matching shoes? Don't mind if I do!
Not a hockey fan in the least, but it was pretty amazing to be in LA when the Kings won
Celebrating Dr. D's graduation with my bestie Morgan
The Doctor himself! So incredibly proud of my man!

My favorite look of the month. Love the gold & cobalt blue combination!
Saw a ton of flags waving all over LA for the World Cup

Kickin' ass and takin' names at kickball
Got a white mani for the first time ... don't think that will be happening again
Took Dr. D out to a huge congratulatory dinner at Chart House in Redondo Beach the day he officially became a doctor. They even personalized his menu and had champagne waiting for us!
Starbucks got green straws and this made me happy, happy, happy!

Did y'all do anything fun this past month?

Whimsical Polka Dots + Stylish Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Loves!

I hope everyone had a phenomenal weekend! My mom came into town last Wednesday evening, and we've been non-stop busy since! If you follow me on Instagram, I probably blew up your feed with all of my Disneyland and Dodger game photos (sorry not sorry) but we just had too much fun not to share but that will all be shared in a later post :)
The weekend before last I went to a Cinespia showing at Hollywood Forever Cemetery of Coming To America and had the best time with a great group of friends! Since we were going to be laying on the grass playing cards against humanity (best game ever) and picnic-ing I wanted to make sure I was dressed comfortable!
I like to add a bold lip to my black and white color palette to add a bit of pop!

The movie was great and it was so nice to see a bunch of friends I hadn't seen in a while. If you're in the LA area this summer I highly recommend catching a movie! The August line up is one for the books!

Fourth of July Recap + Stylish Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

I hope everyone had a safe and fabulous 4th of July weekend!

My long weekend started out with a dinner party, followed by Thursday off (hello beach day!) Friday I went to a bbq hosted by a kickball friend took a side trip to the beach and ended the day out watching fireworks go off in 8 different locations from my roof ... one word - AWESOME! I've said it before, and I'll say it again I am obsessed and so lucky I found the apartment that I did in such short notice.
A group of us at the bbq on Friday
Margo me and my roommate Meems celebrating Independence Day!

Saturday was pretty low key, running errands and what not before heading to Hollywood Forever to watch Coming To America with yet another group of kickball friends. If y'all are ever in the LA area during the Summer I highly suggest heading over to the cemetery to catch a movie. It's really fun enjoying a picnic and some vino while lounging with your friends.

If you've seen Valentine's Day, it's the location where they shoot the outdoor movie scene with Topher Grace and the elderly guy (sorry lacking his name!)

Sunday I literally died on my couch from exhaustion - sad but true.

A glimpse of the amazing view I had for the 4th of July fireworks

- But back to the fashion -
The minute I spotted this scallop lace tank at Target I fell in love with the intricate details!
When the cobalt blue (have I mentioned I LOVE this color) scallop high waisted shorts caught my eye at Francesca's, I knew they'd be a perfect 4th of July outfit!
The metallic wedges were a perfect addition to get me in the festive holiday mood!
Top: Target // Shorts: Francesca's // Necklace: Steinmart // Earrings: Versona // Wedges: Steve Madden // Sunnies: Ray Ban

I co-hosted a linkup with Rhea Etc. yesterday, make sure to check that out as well!
