Fourth of July Recap + Stylish Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

I hope everyone had a safe and fabulous 4th of July weekend!

My long weekend started out with a dinner party, followed by Thursday off (hello beach day!) Friday I went to a bbq hosted by a kickball friend took a side trip to the beach and ended the day out watching fireworks go off in 8 different locations from my roof ... one word - AWESOME! I've said it before, and I'll say it again I am obsessed and so lucky I found the apartment that I did in such short notice.
A group of us at the bbq on Friday
Margo me and my roommate Meems celebrating Independence Day!

Saturday was pretty low key, running errands and what not before heading to Hollywood Forever to watch Coming To America with yet another group of kickball friends. If y'all are ever in the LA area during the Summer I highly suggest heading over to the cemetery to catch a movie. It's really fun enjoying a picnic and some vino while lounging with your friends.

If you've seen Valentine's Day, it's the location where they shoot the outdoor movie scene with Topher Grace and the elderly guy (sorry lacking his name!)

Sunday I literally died on my couch from exhaustion - sad but true.

A glimpse of the amazing view I had for the 4th of July fireworks

- But back to the fashion -
The minute I spotted this scallop lace tank at Target I fell in love with the intricate details!
When the cobalt blue (have I mentioned I LOVE this color) scallop high waisted shorts caught my eye at Francesca's, I knew they'd be a perfect 4th of July outfit!
The metallic wedges were a perfect addition to get me in the festive holiday mood!

I co-hosted a linkup with Rhea Etc. yesterday, make sure to check that out as well!

This look is so simple and casual, yet sophisticated and chic! I love how basic pieces don't have to be overwhelmed with statement jewelry, but rather paired with neutral accesories and still look polished. This patriotic looks gets an A+ in my book!

East vs. West Coast Style: Black and White

Hey Dolls!

Pamela and I are back at it with another rendition of East vs. West Coast Style! This month we chose to do a black and white theme and I for one was ecstatic! Black and white is so chic & classy, not to mention it perfectly transitions from one season to the next.

Naturally I grabbed my favorite black and white top from the Loft (which seems to be getting a lot of love on the blog lately) and paired it with a faux leather skater skirt and killer heels.
I've literally been DYING to showcase my fabulous rooftop patio since the moment I moved in, so naturally that's where these photos were taken. The sun was getting ready to set and I think the lighting worked well in my favor.

Dr. D kept joking my skirt was too short (shocked a guy would ever say that!) but just goes to show I truly date a gentleman y'all!

Top: LOFT // Skirt: H&M // Heels: Target // Watch: Juicy Couture // Rings: David Yurman & Handpicked // Earrings: Francesca's Collection

Travelin' over to the East coast we have Pamela's look! When I saw this first photo I immediately thought I was looking at an Express catalog - she's just that freakin' pretty and has the lean lines of a model!

This look is completely effortless which is why I love it so much. White denim has always been a favorite of mine since it pairs with everything and her black tie dye tank is no exception! The ankle strap shoes show off some skin to balance out the bottom half of the look and the stacked arm candy and long necklace add just enough glam to take this outfit from shopping with the girls to a night on the town!

Her pink lips and nails add just enough color to top off the outfit. I'm seriously swononing over this look and know everybody on Pinterest is going to be as well when I pin first thing after this post goes live!

I say this every month, but seriously go check out Sequins and Seabreezes ... you won't be disappointed!

Stylish Tuesday + Cheers to 2 Years Dr. D!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

First I have some great news ... I FINALLY found the most amazing apartment in LA! My new roomie is amazing and we're sharing a massive loft in West LA with 3 patios and and rooftop access. I'm still pinching myself with how lucky I got. Oh and did I mention there's laundry IN the unit? For all of the non-Los Angeles goer's out there this is a HUGE deal and knock on wood I've been lucky enough to have it in each place I've lived.

As soon as I get nice and settled I'll post photos of my new abode, until then it's a ton of unpacking and organizing followed by some super fun decorating and DIY time. Pinterest is already my BFF but we're about to spend some super quality time together!

Since I found this place so suddenly, the move was put into high gear and I packed all of my stuf in 3 days and moved in a total of 7 hours to the other side of town. Naturally, blogging was put to the back burner because let's be real I needed a roof over my head; therefore, I know I shared this outfit 2 weeks ago but never got around to telling the story of Dr. D's and my 2 year anniversary so here we go!

Enjoying our picnic behind the wine sign
I loved all of the cute decor Malibu Wines had on display
We had a spectacular picnic lunch filled with chicken strips, brie & triscuits and grapes. Don't judge!
We had a wonderful time wine tasting and reminiscing about the last two years we've spent together. After that we re-lived our childhood and saw "Muppets Most Wanted." We may be 25 but we're still kids at heart!

Stylish Tuesday + Malibu Wines

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

It truly is April Fools Day for me, last night I slammed my finger in my girlfriend's apartment door after dinner and that sucker is still throbbing!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and your Tuesday is starting out fantastic! I had a lovely weekend celebrating my two year anniversary with Dr. D! We kept it very low key and ventured out to Malibu Wines but I'll post a full recap about my anniversary on Thursday :)

Over the weekend I was super excited to see two more apartments in LA but as before, both were a bust (for different reasons) but new opportunities are slowly showing up. I still have 2 months to find something, but this process is already becoming too stressful for my liking!

- Back to the fashion-

It's been rather chilly in LA terms lately and I for one don't mind it a bit. The weather is about to skyrocket into the high temperatures here and I'll constantly be living in shorts and sundresses; therefore, I'm wearing my jeans and chiffon blouses until it's too hot to handle!
I loved the way the gold flats and belt tied everything in together and really brought out the chain and links in the bubble necklace! Not to mention the amazing backdrop, Malibu Wines has some seriously adorable prop pieces all over their stunning grounds!
I took about 5 photos in front of this sign. I absolutely loved it!
The back detail on this top is super chic in my mind
When Dr. D snags these candid shots they end up being my favorite. Anyone else feel that way about unintentional shots?

This week's featured blogger is Stephanie from Diary of a Debutante!
I'm so glad Stephanie stopped by and linked up because I am now officially obsessed with her blog! She's always on some kind of fun adventure, or posting a flawless outfit post which looks completely effortless just like the one above. Such a simple striped dress with a fun statement necklace and clutch but when all put together it makes for one incredible look!

East vs West Coast: Winter White

Happy Thursday Dolls!

I'm so excited to announce a fun project I have been wanting to do for quite some time now. When I started my blog a year ago I kept seeing all kinds of fun collaborations between bloggers and kept telling myself, "One day you'll get there".

One of the first bloggers I encountered was Laura from Laura Lily at WWD Magic in Las Vegas. I would read her blog daily (and still do), but one post kept catching my eye, "East vs West Coast Style". Seeing as how I moved here from South Carolina I knew I wanted to befriend an East coast blogger who's style would not only be spot on, but a girl who would in a small way remind me of back home. Along came Pamela from Sequins and Seabreezes, my new blogger pal who was the perfect fit for such a fun collab!
Pamela's a Florida gal who's year round tan and great style immediately caught my attention. We started emailing back and forth and not only was she using the same key words I do (love, doll, babe, etc). she had the quirkiest personality I have ever come across! We've only been e-mailing for a few short weeks but I feel like I've known her for years.

We decided to make this a monthly collab, so check back every 3rd Thursday of the month so we can share how the East and West coast wears a trend. To kick things off we're talking Winter White!

Even though it's Winter, Los Angeles doesn't really believe in that so I went with a white dress and a cream blazer. I added some glitz and color with my necklace and a fun snakeskin shoe to kick it up a notch!
I can't be the only one who rocks a sock bun on a bad hair day right?!
