So Cal Blogger Society: Spring Fling Bloggers Brunch

Happy Thursday Loves!

This post is long overdue but last month I attended my first blog event, the So Cal Bloggers Society "Spring Fling" Bloggers Brunch at Areal restaurant in Santa Monica! It was such an amazing event and I have to personally thank Alex from Stylelista Confessions and Leah from LA Brunchers for taking the time to organize such a beautiful event!

I have to say it was such a surreal experience meeting girls I view through a computer screen on the daily that are complete strangers; however, seem like actual friends due to the content of their posts. Another thing which blew my mind was when I got approached by Stormie from 20 Something Diaries.

We began to chat and she told me she found So Cal Blog Society (SCBS) through my blog which truly warmed my heart. Isn't it amazing how one simple compliment can completely brighten your day and make you feel like all the effort you put into your blog is truly worth it? The more we got to chat we realized we both went to college in North Carolina, her Duke and High Point University for myself (ironic since we now live in California) but the real kicker is we were in the same sorority (Zeta Tau Alpha) which is prominently a midwest, southeast sorority and kind of unheard of on the west coast. From that point we were instant besties and I have blogging to thank for that.

I met some other fab ladies throughout the brunch and had one of the most incredible afternoon's to date since moving to LA. But let's get to the part you're dying to hear about ... the food! As we arrived, hour d'oeurves were passed around including mini cinnamon rolls, sliced chicken sausage and goat cheese bacon wrapped dates. Following that was a variety of main dishes and delectable deserts (which I missed out on because I had to head out early ... boo!)

How adorable are these bite size cinnamon rolls?
Sliced chicken sausages with melted cheese and garnish
Goat cheese and bacon wrapped dates - y'all these were like heaven in your mouth!

Everyone was constantly Tweeting & Instagram-ing so naturally I fit right in in this photo
We arrived to tables with gift bags and boxes and an empty mimosa glass. Y'all Alex and Leah hooked it up because we had bottomless cocktails all brunch long!

I don't even like Bloody Mary's but look how pretty these are?!
Bacon Bourbon Cocktail. Candied bacon IN a cocktail? Sign me up for 2 please!

Alas the afternoon sadly did have to come to an end. As I bid farewell to my new friends I grabbed my goodie bag and met Dr. D at the car since he had dropped me off. I wish I had taken photos of the stuff inside the gift bag before I moved, but I unfortunately forgot :( Next time ladies, next time!

Stylish Tuesday + Cheers to 2 Years Dr. D!

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

First I have some great news ... I FINALLY found the most amazing apartment in LA! My new roomie is amazing and we're sharing a massive loft in West LA with 3 patios and and rooftop access. I'm still pinching myself with how lucky I got. Oh and did I mention there's laundry IN the unit? For all of the non-Los Angeles goer's out there this is a HUGE deal and knock on wood I've been lucky enough to have it in each place I've lived.

As soon as I get nice and settled I'll post photos of my new abode, until then it's a ton of unpacking and organizing followed by some super fun decorating and DIY time. Pinterest is already my BFF but we're about to spend some super quality time together!

Since I found this place so suddenly, the move was put into high gear and I packed all of my stuf in 3 days and moved in a total of 7 hours to the other side of town. Naturally, blogging was put to the back burner because let's be real I needed a roof over my head; therefore, I know I shared this outfit 2 weeks ago but never got around to telling the story of Dr. D's and my 2 year anniversary so here we go!

Enjoying our picnic behind the wine sign
I loved all of the cute decor Malibu Wines had on display
We had a spectacular picnic lunch filled with chicken strips, brie & triscuits and grapes. Don't judge!
We had a wonderful time wine tasting and reminiscing about the last two years we've spent together. After that we re-lived our childhood and saw "Muppets Most Wanted." We may be 25 but we're still kids at heart!

Month In Instagram: March

March was the kick off of my career going from abnormally busy to completely chaotic. Here's a sneak peek into my life and what all happened throughout March.

Jeff the Cat and I had some serious bonding time. He's going to claw the death out of me when I take that chevron blanket to my new apartment. I swear he thinks it's his!
I received a stunning gown from 1 Dress Co UK to wear to the Oscars!
The Govrnors Ball was completely breathtaking and seeing John Legend perform 2 feet from me wasn't half bad either!
I worked BTS of the "Men of Style" Angeleno photoshoot at Montage Beverly Hills
Saw snow capped mountains in 85 degree weather ... only in California!
Torured Jeff while I watched the Bachelor finale ... oh vey Juan Pablo is a hot mess
Enjoyed a breakfast of champions or a 5 year old. You decide.
Naturally had a green beer (or five) on St. Patty's Day!
Was reassured that A) earthquakes are freaky and B) my friends are the best no matter how far away
Just a typical day at the office ... just this time I was caught in action by the lovely JD of Red Carpet Report
Bacon Bourbon cocktail at the So Cal Blogger Society Brunch .... so yummy!
Attended my first blogger event at Areal restaurant for the So Cal Spring Fling Blogger Brunch
Bottomless mimosas and delicious food y'all!
Dr. D and I celebrated our 2 years at Malibu wines
Went on a dinner date with my ZTA bestie in LA

Stylish Tuesday 2014 Recap

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

My computer decided to have a temper tantrum last night so I wasn't able to edit my photos; therefore, this Stylish Tuesday is going to be a little different.

I've taken my favorite 3 looks from each full month we've already experienced in 2014. It still blows my mind that we're already in April y'all ... where did the time go?

Before we get to the linkup and this week's featured blogger I have a BIG announcement y'all! Black and white is all the rage this Spring season and Tori is rocking it like a pro! I'm absolutely in love with her horizontal stripe skirt and think she paired it with the perfect amount of statement jewelry; however, I cannot forget to mention that amazing pink lip ... tres chic love!

Stylish Tuesday + Malibu Wines

Happy Tuesday Dolls!

It truly is April Fools Day for me, last night I slammed my finger in my girlfriend's apartment door after dinner and that sucker is still throbbing!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and your Tuesday is starting out fantastic! I had a lovely weekend celebrating my two year anniversary with Dr. D! We kept it very low key and ventured out to Malibu Wines but I'll post a full recap about my anniversary on Thursday :)

Over the weekend I was super excited to see two more apartments in LA but as before, both were a bust (for different reasons) but new opportunities are slowly showing up. I still have 2 months to find something, but this process is already becoming too stressful for my liking!

- Back to the fashion-

It's been rather chilly in LA terms lately and I for one don't mind it a bit. The weather is about to skyrocket into the high temperatures here and I'll constantly be living in shorts and sundresses; therefore, I'm wearing my jeans and chiffon blouses until it's too hot to handle!
I loved the way the gold flats and belt tied everything in together and really brought out the chain and links in the bubble necklace! Not to mention the amazing backdrop, Malibu Wines has some seriously adorable prop pieces all over their stunning grounds!
I took about 5 photos in front of this sign. I absolutely loved it!
The back detail on this top is super chic in my mind
When Dr. D snags these candid shots they end up being my favorite. Anyone else feel that way about unintentional shots?

This week's featured blogger is Stephanie from Diary of a Debutante!
I'm so glad Stephanie stopped by and linked up because I am now officially obsessed with her blog! She's always on some kind of fun adventure, or posting a flawless outfit post which looks completely effortless just like the one above. Such a simple striped dress with a fun statement necklace and clutch but when all put together it makes for one incredible look!
